New Must-Haves For Your Baby Registry

By Inna Shamis Lapin

You've gotten loads of advice from friends, your mother and budget-baby books, but that doesn't make navigating your registry any easier. No need to add "overwhelmed" to your long list of pregnancy symptoms. We've checked out the top-selling and trendiest products on the market for the only guide you'll need to pull up when you're handed the scanner in the baby gear aisles.

Here's our favorite baby gear for 2013.

Delaney Crib 'N Changer - This convertible 2-in-1 crib and changer combo is a super addition to any nursery. It is also perfect for maximizing small spaces in apartments or cozy rooms. Both fashionable and functional (it converts from a crib to a toddler bed, daybed and then a full), the Delaney is manufactured from hard wood and is JPMA/ASTM certified (meeting all safety standards and featuring a non-toxic finish).   $330

Pebble Pure Mattress By Sleep Nook -You’ve probably never seen an organic mattress like this!  Made of certified organic coconut core and natural latex (for support), eucalyptus surface fibers (to help regulate baby’s temperature), a breathable outer layer that helps move airflow (for those belly-sleeping babies), and a removable/washable cover (available in 5 colors) that makes for easy clean ups (a must for sleepless nights with a newborn!) – this is ideal for every nursery. Retails for $395, there’s also lighter and thinner version available for $295.

Serenity Star – This innovative and multi-task feeding/sleep system replaces the need for a notepad and pen to record and display the most recent feeding time and which breast last nursed.  It also serves as a nightlight, clock and room-temperature indicator (glowing red when room is too hot, blue when its too cold, and white when it is just right). As if that weren’t enough, it is also a sound machine that features two lullabies, a white noise or heartbeat option.  $90

Ubbi Diaper Pail This eco-friendly diaper pail is made of steel (so no seep-through odors), has a childproof lock button (in case you have other little ones in the house), and can be used with any standard trash bag or reusable diaper liner (we love this, considering the cost of typical diaper bag refills).  It comes in ten colors to match any décor.  Retails for $80
