5 Beauty Tools You May Not Be Using – But Should Be!

When it comes to choosing between a great blush or a pair of tweezers, most gals prefer to spend their beauty dollars on amazing products (hey, that blush gives us instant pretty) and often skimp on tools that could make our lives (and beauty regimens) much, much easier.

That's why we've scoured the beauty shelves to bring you five gadgets that are worthy “tool box” additions. Drumroll, please...

Sayonara, Mascara Clumps: Nothing is more irksome (and time consuming) than trying to remove the clumps from your freshly-applied mascara. Now, you can skip the drama with Tweezerman’s folding iLash Comb ($10). The metal teeth are perfectly spaced to solve even the worst excess mascara debacles. "Clump-gate" will soon be a thing of the past. (Available at Ulta, Macy’s, and Neiman Marcus.)

DIY Tress Trimmer: We've all done it - occasionally trim our own tresses between hair appointments. Now, you don’t have to worry about bangs that look like a five-year-old just cut ‘em. The Bango Hair Trimmer ($20) is an at-home tool that allows you to trim your own bangs and layers, extending the time in between haircuts. (This totally gives new meaning to the phrase “more bang for your buck.") (Available at CVS.)

Flawless-faced beauty: Most of us (myself included) are guilty of using our fingers when it comes to applying concealer and foundation. But what if there were a tool that allowed you to flawlessly apply your makeup in a flash? Meet the Beautyblender ($20) sponge. You’ve probably seen this teardrop shaped spongel at your local beauty store and passed it up a hundred times. Stipple it across your skin with liquid, cream, powder, loose, or pressed cosmetics. (Available at Sephora and BeautyBar.com.)

Fierce fringe: Sadly, most of us aren’t blessed with long lashes that naturally curl (mine are as straight as an arrow). Why not swap out your traditional eyelash curler for a heated one? The Japonesque Heated Mini Eyelash Curler ($18) is like hot rollers for your lashes. Simply wait 30 seconds for the coil extension to heat up , then apply the wand-shaped curler to lashes, combing them in an upward motion. Apply your fave mascara and, voila…flirty, perfectly curled, lush lashes! (Available at Ulta, BeautyBar.com, and Beauty.com.)

Makeup Removing Magic: Now you see it, now you don’t! Almay’s Oil-Free Makeup Erasing Sticks ($5) are the smartest “swab” invention since Q-Tips. These fluffy cotton swabs are saturated with a dose of oil-free makeup remover, allowing you to precisely remove smudges and runaway eyeliner marks. We predict that once you start swabbing with these ready-to-use makeup-erasing sticks, you won't know how you lived without them! (Available at Drugstore.com, Walgreens, and Ulta.)

You might not be able to hang a picture or fix a leaky faucet with these essential tools, beauty enthusiasts, but when it comes to saving time (and our sanity!) these must-haves are worth every penny.
