Serving Mom breakfast in bed is a tried-and-true Mother’s Day tradition for many families. This year, I'm here to offer a few tips to help Dad and the kids whip up the perfect presentation just for Mom!

Take a look at these simple ways to show Mom just how much you care:

Make breakfast deliciously fun

  • Get the kids in on the action with freshly squeezed orange juice. It's a refreshing treat and an easy task for kids who are eager to help.

  • Make mini fruit kabobs using toothpicks, and then provide a ramekin of yogurt for dipping.
  • Slice toast into bite-sized triangles and arrange them in a circle on a small plate. Top each triangle with a dab of butter, jam, or cheese for the perfect crumb-free portions.

  • Raid your kitchen for creative containers to serve breakfast in. A pretty teacup can be a fruit bowl. An empty mason or jelly jar can become a juice glass.
  • Add a few of Mom’s favorite flowers and a handmade card or love note on a paper napkin to the tray.

  • Consider cutting a piece of paper to fit perfectly in the bottom of your breakfast tray and allow the kids decorate it.
  • Decorate the breakfast tray with Mom’s favorite things. Some ideas are a seashell to remind her of a day at the beach, a small framed family snapshot, or postcard from a memorable trip.
  • Tip: Whatever you decide, just remember not to go overboard with decorations. Your beautiful breakfast will speak for itself!

After breakfast, give Mom her favorite magazine, the morning paper, or a new book for her to enjoy while you clean the kitchen!
