Marty Friedman
relationship coach
Since 1976, Marty Friedman has instructed more than 2000 management and communication seminars in organizations throughout the U.S., and for 28 years he has practiced Siddha Yoga Meditation. When his long-term marriage ‘hit a wall’, Marty realized that if he wanted to save his marriage he had to go beyond the communication principles he had been teaching others. The shake-up in his marriage propelled him to new insights about marriage and the changing roles for men and women in relationships. What he learned begin to turn his marriage in a positive direction and help others as well.
Marty developed three practical, clear principles to help men and women in marriage, as he saw that men have different relationship challenges than womenas well as different strengths. His principles became the basis of his book, “Straight Talk for Men About Marriage : What Men Need to Know about Marriage (And What Women Need to Know About Men)”. He also began to teach workshops and provide individual coaching (not therapy) to educate men and women and provide them tools to become more fulfilled and alive in their marriages.
Marty founded Men in Marriage when he saw how many men neglect their marriages to their own detriment. He discovered that men need support, encouragement and advice about their relationships. From his unique angle, he re-defines marriage in terms men can understand and do something about. And he helps women understand how men think about, and operate in, marriage and relationships so they can more effectively work with their mates.
Marty has been interviewed by dozens of radio, TV and print outlets. He lives with his wife, Claire, and the youngest of their three children, in Northern California. To learn more, please go to www.meninmarriage.com.
What People Are Saying About Marty Friedman
"I have found Marty to be insightful, warm, real, brilliant and more understanding in his comprehension of the male psyche and heart than I have ever experienced. He has helped me learn about women and myself after a painful divorce and a second marriage. I never imagined being able to learn this much so quickly."
Steve Klein, Author and Designer: Klein Guitars/Kleinguitars.com
In all my years of being a psychotherapist in California and also interviewing people for radio and television, I have rarely experienced talking with a male who is so completely understanding and compassionate about the struggle of women to create thriving relationships. His ability to be guide me through the pitfalls of intimacy, power struggle and the frustration of living with a caveman, are beyond what I have ever seen. His friendly and relaxed way of encouraging and offering insight is rare and he is able to hear my needs while still telling me how to build my marriage.
