Goodbye Fear, Hello Abundance!

Goodbye Fear, Hello Abundance!By Milissa Harding

Many entrepreneurs experience different fears when it comes to growing their business. Perhaps you have had some of these fears as well:

  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of what others will think
  • Fear of not being “good enough”
  • Fear of success and responsibility

Fear can be pervasive. It can keep you stuck and paralyzed, ultimately preventing you from moving forward to create a successful and thriving business. If you are an introverted entrepreneur, you may experience these fears on a much deeper level. Society often celebrates extroverted qualities, and this is absolutely true in business as well. Messages around “getting out there” and “playing bigger” sound great, but may not always resonate with you if you have a quieter personality. At times, you may not even believe that there is room in the business world for introverted entrepreneurs, and this couldn’t be further from the truth.

When you learn how to quiet those fears that are keeping you “safely” in your comfort zone, you will begin to feel more confident in your business and you will begin to say YES much more often when growth-opportunities present themselves to you. One of the ways in which you can challenge your fears is to begin seeing yourself as an expert in your field. You have wonderful and unique gifts to share with the world, and there are people who need exactly what you have to offer, in the special way that only you can offer it. Believing this can do wonders for releasing those fears that keep getting in your way, because someone is out there waiting for you to show up fully so that they, too can move forward. Fear, on the other hand, stops you from doing your work that people are waiting for.

A popular acronym for FEAR is “False Evidence Appearing Real”. What we think is true (when it comes to our fears) is most likely false evidence that we’ve created as truth. It appears real, but it’s really a way that your ego is trying to keep you in your comfort zone, rather than in your growth zone. Confronting and testing your fears as a business owner is key to experiencing the success and abundance that you most want to enjoy. I believe that entrepreneurship is the fast path to personal growth and development, and releasing fears will absolutely support you in this journey.

Your Action Steps:

  • How can you begin seeing yourself as an expert in your business?
  • What special gifts do you have that the world needs?
  • How has fear been holding you back from sharing your business with others?
