How to Benefit from a Work-at-Home Moms Mastermind Group

How to Benefit from a Work-at-Home Moms MastermindBy Martine de Luna

If you are a work-at-home moms, chances are you would like to connect with other like-minded WAHMs as well. You may desire to do so out of social reasons, or for networking purposes. But, have you ever considered connecting with other work-at-home moms through a mastermind group?

What is a mastermind group?

A mastermind is basically a coming together of two or more people who want to share knowledge and insights with one another, for a clear and common goal. Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich , perhaps has the best definition. He describes masterminding as “the coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

In other words: Iron sharpening iron.

For instance, there are masterminds between businessmen, who want to coordinate their knowledge and business growth. There can be masterminds between foodies on how to come up with the next best thing in concept restaurants.

What about work at home women — moms, in particular? Wouldn’t it be great to have the support of like-minded mothers who work from home, all of whom want to reach a particular goal, that this: to have a profitable, home-based business that lets you do what you love while making a home.

How a mastermind group can benefit a work at home mom

This type of collaboration really has an “iron sharpening iron” effect, which means that those in the mastermind support one another towards achievement of the one goal in the mastermind.

Here’s how this dynamic can benefit a home-based mom-entrepreneur or work-at-home mom.

1. A mastermind group supplies its members with motivation.

We’ve all come across the adage, “Bad company corrupts good morals,” haven’t we? If we, as work at home moms, spend our time with negative, bitter people who grumble about non-growth or the state of their job, chances are we’ll absorb the same negative attitudes towards our work.

On the other hand, if you mastermind with other women who are driven towards success, who are passionate about their vision, then there is a high likelihood that you will influence each other positively towards your goal of a purposeful, intentional business that supports your work-at-home lifestyle. A mastermind can help you foster that positive energy towards achieving your goals, while providing you with support when times get a bit trying.

2. Masterminds engage one another to thrive, to persevere.

We all know working from home is tough, especially as women. A mastermind, however, can help you form meaningful relationships with other women just like you, especially when your home business journey seems to tap you out completely. These women can be a sounding board for your business ideas and inspiration, even your doubts and fears. The connections formed in a mastermind can help  you through the rough patches of your journey towards a home-based business that you love.

3. Everyone in a mastermind benefits of everyone’s ideas, inspiration and connections.

Each member of a mastermind has her own unique experience or knowledge base. When two or more fuse their experience and knowledge, there is an immediate exponential growth in business know-how and entrepreneurial experiences. This is a perfect environment for growth, since you in the mastermind get to tap into each others resources and perspectives. You can give each other feedback, even go to each other for accountability on your business goals. It is a naturally nurturing and uplifting environment, where the focus is always on empowerment and growth.

Being a work-at-home mom doesn’t mean you have to go through your WAHM journey alone. Connect with women who are, like you, eager to reach a level of work-at-home success that is fulfilling and freeing. If you form a mastermind group or join one, you can connect with the same kind of women who share your belief system as a WAHM, who can empower you to have the lifestyle you really want, one that lets you create a home-based business that supports your vocation as a mom.

Have you ever been part of a mastermind, whether as a business owner or otherwise? Or, is there a way you can set up a mastermind in your network, with other business owners?
